About RPL/RCC (Recognition of Prior Learning / Recognition of Current Competencies)
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Recognition of Current Competencies (RCC) is the acknowledgment of an individual’s skills and knowledge, irrespective of how it has been acquired. It includes competencies gained through formal study and work/life experience and is available to all students in accredited courses.
This process may result in the student being exempt from select competencies/modules, thereby shortening the length of their chosen course.
The assessment is separate from credit transfers and is available automatically to those who have documented evidence of achievement in the relevant competency, module, course or program.
Pre-assessment is available at the Central Gippsland Skills Store. Further information about RPL is also available at this link.
