How to Apply
You can apply to enrol in our programs by using either of the following methods of application:
- Direct application to GippsTAFE
- Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC)
Direct Application
Direct application methods can differ from department to department, but generally direct application to a GippsTAFE course requires contact being made with the department offering the course you are interested in. Contact us.
A staff member from your selected department will provide you with details of the course you are interested in, and clarify with you any pre-requisites or other requirements you may have to meet prior to enrolment in the course of your choice. These pre-requisites or other requirements may include the achievement of a certain Secondary school level qualification, age, folio or police check to name a few.
If you have met all pre-requisites or other requirements, you may be invited to enrol in your selected program.
Formal enrolment consists of the completion of a GippsTAFE enrolment form, and payment of fees. It should be noted that a prospective student is not classified as an enrolled student until full payment of fees is made, or other financial arrangements for the payment of fees has been authorised by the Institute.
Application via the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC)
The Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) acts on behalf of participating Universities, TAFE Institutes and independent Tertiary Colleges, facilitating and coordinating the joint selection system.
Applications and documentation are received from applicants, processed and forwarded on to the chosen Institutions. Once course authorities have made offers for course places, VTAC sends an offer letter to the applicant.
Application processes do differ between current year 12 students and non year 12 applicants. Please refer to the VTAC Guide (available at a small cost from Newsagents) or visit the VTAC web site for further VTAC application details.
