GippsTAFE Steps Boldly Into The Future

GippsTAFE's Warragul Campus is set for expansion as the people of Warragul demand increased services from the local TAFE Institute.
With education and training playing such a critical role in skill shortages, economic development and the achievement of personal aspirations, GippsTAFE's expansion will see planning for new facilities to accommodate growing expectations.
According to GippsTAFE CEO, Dr. Peter Whitley, development is expected to take place incrementally over the next few years, commencing in 2008.
“The first step in the expansion will be a new car park, which will help GippsTAFE support the rising number of students attending classes at the campus,” Dr Whitley said.
“Later, we would expect to see further development of the buildings themselves, allowing us to increase the number and range of courses on offer to the local community and industry.”
A proposed concept building has already been prepared, with a view to make the building the centrepiece for learning in Warragul.
"The plans look fantastic and we cannot wait to get started,” Dr Whitley said. “This is an exciting new development that will see GippsTAFE working to secure Warragul's educational aspirations for years to come.”
GippsTAFE's proposal was greeted with excitement from Glenn Patterson, CEO Baw Baw Shire.
"Warragul is clearly in a growth phase and GippsTAFE's proposed development complements the Shire’s future plans," Mr Patterson said.
"It is exciting to see a commitment to the future skilling of young men and women in our region.”
