Explanation of Fees and Charges

1. Full Fee
This category is applicable to those students who are not eligible for a concession.

2. Concession Fee
This category is applicable to students who are eligible for a concession. Concessions will be granted upon presentation of
a valid Centrelink issued health/pensioner/veteran gold card. This should be presented at the time of enrolment. If this is not possible, you will
be charged Full Fees, until such time as evidence of concession entitlement is provided. If you can provide evidence that states that you were
eligible at the time of enrolment you may apply for a refund. GippsTAFE Customer Service Centre staff can assist with this.

3. Fees for Indigenous Students (Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander)
As part of the Wurreker strategy, people of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent will be charged a maximum of $55.00 Tuition Contribution and $12.00 SSAF per FCP (Fee Cap Period).

4. Fee for Service Programs
As per course fee advice. Concessions are not available on Fee For Service programs.

The Enrolment Fees for GippsTAFE in 2008 consist of the following:

Tuition Contribution (as per the Ministerial Directions)
This fee is charged at $1.37 per Student Contact Hour (hours of tuition). Within the 12-month Fee Cap Period, the minimum fee is $55.00, and the
maximum is $877.00. The Tuition Fee applies to all courses funded by the State of Victoria.

Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF)
The SSAF is a compulsory fee charged at GippsTAFE to support a range of student services. This fee is charged at $0.30 per Student Contact Hour.
Within the 12-month Fee Cap Period, the minimum fee is $12.00, and the maximum is of $192.00. This fee is set by the Institute’s Council.

Materials and Other Charges
In some courses, materials charges may apply to cover items such as tools, excursions or first aid training. These fees are set by individual GippsTAFE
Departments. If you require further details regarding theses charges, please seek advice from the relevant department.

Withdrawals and Refunds

Students can withdraw from a program at any stage. For students wishing to withdraw and apply for a refund of fees they are required to withdraw no longer than 4 weeks from the commencement date of the course. Withdrawals, lodged on an official GippsTAFE Withdrawal form within this period will result in a refund of fees, less a $40.00 processing Fee. Withdrawals after a 4 week period will not be considered for a refund of fees.
