Course Overview
Traineeships are a great way to learn a trade and get practical experience at the same time. The Certificate III in Gas Operations is a nationally accredited course developed in accordance with National Competency Standards by Electrocomms and Energy Utilities Industry Skills Council. It caters for industry requirements within the field of gas operations.
What you will learn
In this course you will learn how to:
- Apply procedures in the workplace
- Work with others
- Plan and organise work activities
- Construct and lay pipelines
- Prepare, excavate and reinstate site
- Use plans, drawings and specifications
- Use and maintain small plant, equipment and carry out minor mechanical maintenance.
You can also choose from elective subjects such as:
- Commission/decommission pipelines
- Co-ordinate pipeline repair and modifications
- Perform routine maintenance on pipeline facilities and equipment
- Co-ordinate construction, laying and testing of gas distribution pipelines
- Organise personal work priorities and development
- Support leadership in the workplace
- Contribute to effective workplace relationships
- Maintain workplace safety.
