Course Overview
Caring for aged adults and people with a disability can be a rewarding vocation that can make a real difference to another person’s wellbeing and quality of life. Carers are in high demand as our population ages, so caring for people in the community will offer you employment prospects well into the future.
In this course you will learn how you can help people to maintain an independent lifestyle in their own home. You will learn skills to help you provide effective support and communication, to be aware of cultural sensitivities, and to assist in empowering clients to maintain their independence.
You will also learn about industry information requirements and safety procedures that are applicable to the home and community setting.
This course can be studied as a Dual Award Course with Certificate III in Aged Care - CHC30312.
Course participants will be required to undergo a police check prior to attending practical placement.
