Aged Care workers make a positive difference to older people’s lives. Aged Care workers are in high demand as our population ages so a career in Aged Care will offer you employment prospects well into the future.
In this course you will learn how to maintain and provide personal care and assistance for the aged living in residential care facilities. Your new skills will be in line with the guidelines of the aged care sector. These include providing effective support, communication, managing behaviour, industry information requirements, safety procedures and cultural sensitivity.
This course will equip you for employment as a carer in a residential aged care facility and with GippsTAFE’s great reputation with local industry, our quality training will optimise your employment opportunities.
This course can be studied as a Dual Award Course with Certificate III in Home and Community Care - CHC30212.
Course participants will be required to undergo a police check prior to attending placement. There are approximately 160hrs of compulsory practical placement attached to this course.
Qualifications And RecognitionUpon successful completion of this course students will be eligible to receive the Certificate III in Aged Care.
