Victorian Koorie Student of the Year, Stephanie Dalton, invited to attend Royal Reception

Queens Visit

GippsTAFE was bursting with Royal fever last week with the news that GippsTAFE student and Victorian Koorie Student of the Year winner Stephanie Dalton was preparing to meet the Queen!

Stephanie, along with GippsTAFE staff member Doris Paton and former GippsTAFE student, artist and author Eileen Harison, received an invitation to attend the State Reception for Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh on Wednesday 26th of October at Government House in Melbourne.

With their nerves in check the ladies travelled straight to Government house, arriving early, while the Queen greeted the thousands of people lining the streets of Melbourne. Stephanie, Doris and Eileen looked very much the part as they joined other notable guests. The ladies were proud to be representing Gippsland and its people at such a prestigious event.

Just missing out on the chance to greet the Queen herself the Gippsland trio were thrilled for the opportunity to dine with Her Majesty.

Congratulations ladies. The GippsTAFE community, local community and your families are very proud of this wonderful achievement. Here are just a few of many messages of support and congratulations received in the days leading up to the Queen’s visit:
