Scholarship opportunity for South Gippsland and Bass Coast students

Would you like $3000 to put towards further study and improving your future career outcomes?

That is exactly the opportunity being offered to South Gippsland students.

This year the Southern and Coastal TAFE Alliance has again opened applications for the Young Community Leaders Scholarships. Now in its 4th year the program will offer two scholarships, one for Vocational Education and Training (TAFE), and another for Higher Education (University).

The scholarships aim to reward and encourage outstanding personal qualities and demonstrated leadership, as well as academic achievement and commitment.

Those awarded a scholarship will receive a $3,000 voucher which will be made available for either TAFE or university studies commencing in 2012. This can be spent on tuition fees, material fees, books, equipment, laptop computer, travel assistance etc. Scholarship finalists (excluding the winners) will be given a $250 cheque to spend on what they wish.

The Southern and Coastal TAFE Alliance is a partnership between Chisholm Bass Coast and GippsTAFE Leongatha. The Alliance aims to strengthen and build vocational education and training within the Bass Coast and South Gippsland region through collaboration and the sharing of resources.

All current Year 12 VCE or Senior VCAL students are invited to apply for the Young Community Leaders Scholarships. Each school is invited to nominate one student, for each award category. Applications close Friday 9 September 2011.
