GippsTAFE Warragul celebrates student success
The commitment and achievement of local students has been warmly commended at the recent GippsTAFE Graduation and Industry Award ceremonies.
Graduating students of 2010 proudly celebrated their success at the West Gippsland Arts Centre on the 2nd of March, 2011.
“At times life can seem like an ongoing list of challenges and tasks which is all the more reason to stop and reflect and celebrate achievements along the way; and successfully completing a GippsTAFE course is certainly a significant milestone,” expressed GippsTAFE Warragul Campus Manager Mrs. Phillipa Griffiths.
“The students and their families should be very proud of their achievements, we certainly are.”
The 2010 Institute Board Presidents award, for Warragul Campus Outstanding Student was presented to Danielle Finlayson of Warragul. This award recognised Danielle’s outstanding performance not just in terms of results, but also her attitude and approach to her studies.
Danielle successfully completed three courses in 2010, the Certificate III in Media, Certificate IV in Interactive Digital Media and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Motivated by the desire to improve her own websites Danielle strived to complete both media courses in only six months, achieving outstanding academic results.
GippsTAFE also recognised the efforts of other outstanding students at the recent Industry Awards Evening. Local businesses and industry showed their support for students by sponsoring 18 awards across a range of categories.
The commended students excelled in their chosen studies and it is expected that they will continue to be an asset to our region through their future endeavours.
GippsTAFE Board Deputy President Mrs. Joanne Stringer, said “our students and graduates play a significant role in our local community, with many of GippsTAFE graduates now employed in senior leadership positions and/or owning their own business.”
